Brits worrying about debt and repossession could be sapping themselves of energy, it has been claimed.
According to life and career coach Joanne Mallon, worrying can have a big impact on health and wellbeing, which can lead to problems in other parts of a person's life.
"When people worry, they're not necessarily dealing with the situation as it is, they're dealing with what they fear might happen and we all conjure ideas in our mind and fears about how terrible things are going to be," she said.
"So if it's with money, you're thinking 'am I going to lose my house, is it all going to go horribly wrong?'"
The expert explained that this can be a distraction that stops people dealing with the root of the problem.
Ms Mallon advised those worried about debt or repossession to deal with the issue as it stands and not to concern themselves with what might happen should things go wrong.
