House repossessions should be made easier and government policy could be adapted to make it easier to evict those causing anti-social behaviour.
This is the call of Canterbury and Whitstable MP Julian Brazier, who says this would deal with "neighbours from hell", the Kentish Gazette reports.
He says such behaviour is causing problems for many homeowners in his constituency and claims: "We need to make it much easier for homes to be repossessed."
The representative believes this would not result in a vast number of evictions, but the treat of having this occur could make a difference to the way residents behave.
Mr Brazer is lobbying housing minister Grant Shapps and justice minister Kenneth Clarke with the aim of ensuring his plans are followed through in the future.
Lenders were recently given new guidance on house repossession from the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
The body aims to ensure companies comply with the Financial Services Authority's mortgage conduct of business rules and its principles for treating customers fairly in the future.
